The Consumers Energy Smart Thermostat Program rewards customers who enroll a qualifying smart thermostat and allow small, temporary temperature adjustments, only during periods of high electricity demand. By enrolling, you'll receive an additional instant rebate up to $50, applied at checkout. During summer peak-demand days, enrolled thermostats automatically adjust 2–4 degrees for a few hours to help reduce strain on the grid, but you'll always retain full control and may override adjustments at any time.
